About Jami Smith
My career has been centered around community building and servant leadership. I am a seasoned Operations and Human Resource manager with over a decade of experience in the Edtech and media industries. I was the Head of Talent at iD Tech, where I led the high-volume recruiting strategy and hiring of over 1,600 early career talent and 150 year-round employees. I developed extensive campus recruiting and diversity, equity, and inclusion programs. In 2020, I received my certification in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging from Cornell University. I'm also passionate about community radio. I currently produce a weekly show called Songs That Saved Your Life that explores the erasure of queer stories in music history. I'm also a freelance writer and publish a weekly Substack newsletter on the same topic, combining my passion for music, history, and storytelling. I can also name any Prince song in one second or less.
