I completed my second and final placement (525 hours) within Epworth's rehabilitation social work team. During this period I gained experience with neurology, orthopaedic, and ABI rehabilitation contexts. In particular, I worked closely with clients experience ABI and post-traumatic amnesia following road traffic accidents. I developed skills in supportive counselling, comprehensive psychosocial assessments relevant to the practice context, facilitating family meetings, and working within a multidisciplinary team. I have built experience working with NDIS, My Aged Care and TAC including providing education to clients and families, assisting with referrals and applications, and liaising with case managers. I have, in practice, applied both task/goal focused counselling and narrative approaches, drawing on critical social work theory. I actively sought opportunities for critical reflection and ongoing professional development.

I completed my first placement (525 hours) within Mind. Australia's Recovery College. In this position I assisted with the development of sexual health, health relationships, and other life skills resources for young people accessing residential mental health services. I utilised skills in co-design and group facilitation, and developed further skills in health communication and education. I have developed proficiency in working from a recovery perspective and with lived experience/co-design frameworks, in line with recommendations from the Royal Commission into Victoria's Mental Health System. Additionally, I drew upon critical social work, anti oppressive and intersectional feminist lenses/theories to inform practice, whilst also engaging in both internal and external critical reflection and professional development opportunities.
