The state of Washington has the largest, best, most accessible collections of state archives in the United States, and we constantly strive to get bigger, better and more accessible. The best part: it's all free. I keep the public up-to-date on all the goings on within the State Archives, including events, interesting new materials, exhibits and volunteer activities, among other things. I distribute a monthly newsletter containing several topics, including tips on how to search the Archives, news related to Washington history, and everybody's favorite: The Photo Challenge. The goal is to remind people we are here and available for your public records needs. In a day and age dominated by the internet, it's easy to forget about tangible documents, and though we are working tirelessly to make all of our data digitally searchable, there is still myriad information available in the Archives that you can't find on the web. My most-excellent job entails: marketing, graphic design, event coordination, project management, recruitment, promotional copy writing and editing, technical writing and editing, filming and film editing, statistical analysis and reporting, contract negotiation, public speaking, and much more!

At the State Legislature, I work with Senators, Representatives, government officials, and a large LSS staff to fulfill all of the Legislators' print and web graphics needs. I primarily use Adobe products, publishing software, and online tools to create influential, captivating political imagery to be seen by millions of Washington State residents. Graphical content ranges from rich illustrations and photos, to detailed, large scale info-graphics.

Monkey Sports is a growing major retail supplier of all-things hockey, lacrosse and baseball. I have had the privilege of being a part of the company's growth, being involved with marketing, graphics and production, ensuring these multi-faceted fields integrate smoothly. New aspects, people and problems present themselves on a daily basis—some foreseeable, some not. I embrace this need for adaptation as we believe it breeds motivation. This career has given me rich experience in graphic design and marketing, and how they work together to an extent that makes me believe a business cannot have one without the other. And a production team certainly could not function without graphics and marketing. The idea around here is to set goals, layout explicit plans to achieve the goals with all departments working together, have the flexibility to adapt, and work really smart and hard to achieve the goals.
