I have over 30 years’ experience working across a number of fast-paced sectors and I am a recent graduate with a BA in Applied Management, from the Otago Polytechnic, in Dunedin. I am a confident, self-directed professional, who brings a strong values-driven philosophy and approach to my work environment. Being a natural people coordinator, connector and communicator has allowed me to engage with a diverse group of stakeholders. Delivering timely and exceptional customer service is of paramount importance to me and it where I thrive.I take pride in delivering authentic communication and empowering those I work alongside, and was proud to recently hear this comment “Jan is always passionate about helping people, and always brings a laugh and happiness to the office”. This is no accident; I believe that a positive team culture creates opportunities for employees to shine and outperform expectations and I have been described by previous employers that I have been the unofficial ‘glue’ that is the heartbeat of the organisation.I understand that working with humans, anything can happen and will! I am a fabulous multi-tasker, across both administration and financial tasks. I understand the value of working smarter, leaner and in a timely manner. I understand that at times, tasks needed to be completed yesterday and flexibility is paramount - as is the ability to think on your feet to problem solve. I pride myself on working professionally, under pressure and to the highest of standards.I care about people and relationships; I thrive on listening and connecting with all stakeholders in a clear and professional manner. I speak the truth, woven with humour; I do not shy away from having courageous conversations. Actively sharing team successes is a consummate habit of mine, one where I can use a cross-section of media; web based, verbal or print.I am a proactive, positive, patient, and motivating team player, switching from team leader to collaboratively working alongside colleagues and stakeholders as required. I show up for the team and strive to be the best possible version of myself with all tasks, and projects I am engaged in.
