Psychiatrist, Expert In "Danger For Society" For Courts And District AttorneysPrison Of Antwerp & The Courts Sep 1987 - May 1997While I worked in the jail of Antwerp I witnessed the serious suffering of heroin addicts lacking opioids, and started to fight to change Belgian laws for the correct prescription of methadone, with ultimate success after many years. To share my knowledge I published the article "Methadone at a near pharmacy, by just a psychiatrist" in the Arch. Public Health, 1995, 33, 233-251 I also researched the overlap between the name, the age, the kind of crime, the illegal drugs in the urine, and the descent of 300 new arrived suspects in the jail, but too scared of writing down the results and be blamed for political incorrectness I never published the results besides the prime time TV appearances after a fantastic reception by Abbott to promote their then new illegal drug analyser. In 2020 they promise the analysis of the Wuhan virus immunity of the population, and I believe in their story.

Resident PsychiatryHadassah Hospital, Jerusalem Sep 1976 - Aug 1978After publishing a "Review of acute admissions of 442 foreign born in a closed psychiatric ward (Antwerp, 1967-1975)" in Acta Psychiatrica Belgica, 1978, 78, 287-301, I travelled by car to Jerusalem. While continuing to study Hebrew I met Prof. Dan Herz, head of the department, who told me he couldn't employ me because I didn't speak Hebrew fluently. When I went back I told him in perfect Hebrew : "Now I speak Hebrew, now you will hire me". He tried to question me in English, but I continued to answer him in Hebrew. And he did hire me, seeing that I already learned the Israeli "chutspa" too. My boss then was Prof. Atara Kaplan, daughter of the second minister of economy of the young country. I learned a lot, also in the excellent library. My time in Israel replaced also the military service that was still compulsory in Belgium then, and at the end of may stay I also found my wife there, and we are still happily together after 40+ years.
