CareerI am a live time researcher. I started in 1968 as an assistant researcher in physics and mathematics at the University of Twente. After graduating cum laude in 1974, I became scientific researcher at the University of Groningen on the subject of lung diseases. The next job was researcher at the Ministry of Housing, Physical Planning and Environment on subjects as forecasting, financing and housing policy. Since 1986 I run my own company; first as researcher at Axon; later as manager and researcher at ABF Research. During this period a large number of studies has been done on all kinds of issues as housing, physical planning, care and culture, using techniques as scenario analysis, forecasting, market exploration, policy evaluation and interactive decision making. The next steps were researcher at ABF Culture with a focus on art and culture; researcher at Calcasa; expert at the national council for the environment (RLI) and board member of several organizations active in de cultural sector. At the moment my focus is on philosophy.Further experience Member of the working party on housing of de ECE in Genève; project manager for the foundation Netherlands Now As Design (NNAO); editor of the magazine “Stedenbouw en Volkhuisvesting” of the NIROV; governing board member of the foundation Metropolitan Debate; member of the working party on creative government of the Ministry of Transport; organizer and project manager of the community of practice concerning regional strategies; project manager of the foundation “Uppercity”, project manager of the community of practice concerning Culture Boost; researcher at CAL XL, governing board member of the foundation TOP for culture and technology; chairman of the venue Chiccionina and of PrinsenKwartier.
