Myotherapy is a physical treatment therapy that works with the client to address their musculoskeletal needs aiming at muscle and connective tissue balancing.A client may seek myotherapy to manage myofascial pain and biomechanical dysfunction.This may include back, neck and shoulder pain, general pain, headaches and migraines, joint pain, sports or occupational injuries as well as chronic pain presentations.After the client consultation, the following steps of assessment, treatment, management and prevention are undertaken.Assessment includes posture analysis to form the evidence based treatment.Treatment is a combination of manual techniques applied to address musculoskeletal dysfunction. This involves hands on Remedial Massage Therapy and a combination of techniques may be employed. This includes muscle energy techniques, myofascial release, joint mobilization, cupping, trigger point therapy, deep tissue massage, facilitated stretching & basic manual lymphatic drainage massage. Management in founded in education.Prevention supports self management and can include corrective exercises for the client.
