I founded Tolgee because I felt massive pain while localizing the project I previously worked on. I wouldn't say I liked the fact that I cannot delegate localization tasks to other team members and the repetitiveness and complexity of localization tasks, which Tolgee users can do much simpler. It turned out that there are many companies around the world struggling with the same issues. So, creating a tool to fix the app localization seems like a great idea. Since I always loved open-source products developed by visionary companies like GitLab or Sentry, I believe that making Tolgee open-source is the only way to become the first choice software developing companies.While working on Tolgee, I am learning so many things simultaneously. It's impossible to describe, From leading the team, reaching investors, pitching, and communicating to technical skills like working with AI models, working with new technologies or coming up with innovative ideas, how to make software localization run hand in hand with the sunset in the Maddow.

In Oracle NetSuite, I worked as a QA Engineer. How has it happened that after years of full-stack development experience, I voluntarily accepted the QA Engineer position? When I had an interview with my future boss, he pronounced QA similarly to "Queue Way." I didn't know what it meant, but it seemed very interesting. The technologies - javascript and java were definitely something I wanted to focus on, so it seemed like a great opportunity. Later, I discovered the position is more about testing others' code and writing automated tests, so I wasn't sure this wasn't a step behind.On the other hand, I had little experience with testing and quality assurance, and this seemed like an opportunity to fill this gap in my knowledge. So, I took the job, and retrospectively, I rate it as a great choice. I learned how to deliver well-tested code, and I use this skill every day in Tolgee. Solutions for Championchip were one of my first real-world public-facing apps, which is still used by thousands of users. When you're a runner from Czechia who does amateur races, you very probably used one of the systems I developed as a part-time contractor in high school and later at university. I am super happy that these systems persisted till now and have to be only slightly maintained.Since Czech Championchip does not only operate in Czechia, the apps had to be localized. This job was probably the first one where I had to come up with some untrivial localization solution. Synopsis was primarily developing a tool for managing the law firm agenda. The System was meant to help you with everything the lawyers might need. The job in Synopsis was my first job, where I worked with a team of multiple developers, so I started to learn how large codebases are managed and maintained. During this job, my bad experience with the localization process peaked. I hated how we managed localization data and how much work it was to create new localization strings. Or how every issue with such data led to new tasks for developers.
