I was bought on to re-establish both Risk Management and Business Continuity capability within DHA. In the 8 months I was at DHA, I delivered executive Crisis Management Training and a Crisis Simulation to the Managing Director the Senior Executive Group and revised and reinvigorated the Business Continuity policy and processes.I re-cut the risk management governance suite of documents (Policy, Enterprise Risk Management Framework and Took-kit documents) and supported implementation of a risk strategic and business planning methodology.Defence Housing Australia (DHA) is an Australian government business enterprise established by the Defence Housing Australia Act 1987. DHA supplies housing and related services to Australian Defence Force members and their families in line with Defence operational requirements. To meet these requirements, DHA is active in Australian residential housing markets, acquiring and developing land, and constructing and purchasing houses.

As Manager, Operational Capability Planning, I lead the service delivery capability planning directly attributable to the realisation of benefits associated with Airservices’ OneSKY and transformation program. This required significant cross-functional business liaison and stakeholder engagement, development and implementation of an organisational capability management framework, and management of dependencies between the Program and other capability inputs to deliver future services that provide maximum customer value.This role involved:• Leading the collaborative strategic planning of service delivery targets and enabling operational capability for Airservices, providing the capability targets to support the overall transformation program• Managing the identification, assessment and communication of strategic and portfolio-level risks, issues and opportunities for the transformation program• Development, delivery and implementation of an organisational capability framework to better plan, coordinate, prioritise and deliver the capability inputs for future service delivery to customers in a complex and changing environment

As the Capability Realisation Manager I identified, defined, tracked and reported capability inputs and dependencies critical to Program transformation activities, and worked across the organisation to manage the risks and issues associated with the program and project dependencies.In this role, I:• Developed and delivered a capability management framework• lead the management of program dependencies • undertook the systematic identification, analysis and planning of actions to engage with, communicate with, negotiate with and influence stakeholders• developed plans, risk assessments and other reports as required to support governance and management of dependencies• facilitated the development of proposals to address identified capability gaps

The Program Management Office Manager ensured that the work of the Program was integrated with the work of the Branch as a whole and aligned with the Corporate and Program business objectives. The role required a strong service delivery focus together with a strategic focus on systematic continuous improvement in the delivery of project outcomes. I was accountable for: • Delivery of the assigned portfolio of projects and project reporting is timely and accurate; • Coordination of integration of portfolio projects into the operational platform based on prioritisation • Providing advice, guidance and mentoring to fellow Program staff • Ensuring all work conducted within the portfolio complies with Organisational project management standards • Assisting with project completion reporting and post implementation review with a view to improving the process of delivering projects. • Resolving issues escalated by project staff or escalating issues in a timely manner • Management of relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

The Risk Manager lead the risk management for a billion dollar procurement program including providing specialist advice, and guidance and assuring the Program’s compliance with the organisational Risk Management Framework and the robust application of risk analysis techniques.In this role, I managed a small team to:  Integrated risk management processes across the Program including with Defence; Ensure the accurate recording and comprehensive treatment of all Program risks in compliance with the Risk Management Standard; Coordinate and facilitate risk management workshops and forums; and Maintain effective relationships with technical and operational internal stakeholders, and contractors in support of achieving risk management objectives identified for the future ATM system.I have extensive knowledge and understanding of contemporary risk management in the areas of project, program, portfolio, system safety and enterprise risk.I excel in transitioning strategic thinking to operational practice and process and have experience in delivery of risk management systems in safety critical environments and high reliability organisations.
