The Early Science Initiative (ESI) is a research-based system of embedded professional learning and family engagement that supports early childhood programs and families of young children through promotion of science as a driving force for high quality teaching and learning for infants, toddlers and preschoolers. I lead the ESI team in designing and creating a technology-based platform (children's app and teacher's dashboard, with an embedded research design) that will be integrated into the ESI system.

Educare Learning Network - Created multimedia program (1-2-3 Take it Easy) in three languages (Arabic, Spanish, English), delivered to parents of young children, via text messaging, that promotes both parents' and young children's mindful awareness, self-regulation and executive function. Responsibilities included conceptual design, writing and directing of print, video, and audio content, pilot testing, program and research implementation, and empirical evaluation of effectiveness. 1-2-3 Take it Easy was funded by the Buffett Early Childhood Fund. Educare Learning Network - Created print and multimedia professional development program, delivered to teachers in the Educare Learning Network, that promotes young children's mindful awareness, self-regulation and executive function. Responsibilities included concept design, writing and directing of written and video content, pilot testing, and delivery of live training events. Also, worked with scholars at the University of Miami to integrate the curriculum with their Early Science Framework (piloting with select Educare sites). This program was funded by the Buffett Early Childhood Fund. Save The Children - Assisted with the analyses of data obtained from an effectiveness study of STC's home visiting program (Early Step to School Success) for families of children ages 0-to-3. Other responsibilities included analysis of other national home visiting programs.

Researched and authored extensive report on the use and effectiveness of distance and blended technology for professional development of early childhood caregivers in the US, with further analysis of the potential use of technology for professional development in the state of Nebraska. Buffett Early Childhood Institute published and distributed the report statewide.

Leap Into Learning, Inc. developed and marketed award-winning, research-based emergent literacy software for grades Pre-K through 2nd grade, focusing on phonemic awareness and phonics skill development. The Leap Into Learning software products were licensed to Pearson for inclusion in the Reading Streets basal series and McGraw-Hill for inclusion in the Open Court Reading supplementary products. Direct-to-school sales reached over 25,000 elementary schools in the US market. The Leap Into Learning products were also sold direct-to-consumer through Scholastic Software Clubs, and internationally through independent distribution agreements.
