I offer one-on-one sessions using Reiki, Acupressure, AcuReiki Essence(R) and Ayurveda Lifestyle Counseling for women's health concerns to rebalance patterns of disharmony. This highly effective blend of modalities supports the immune system and overall optimal functioning of the systems of the body, working at all levels of being: body, mind, emotions and spirit. (Prior to 2013, the name of my business was Journey Holistic Health, started in 1991.)In AcuReiki Essence sessions, I use specific essential oils on acupressure points to enhance the effect of the points. The most popular session is the Relieve Tension Restore Vitality session, but AcuReiki Essence can also address conditions such as fatigue, anxiety, stress, headaches/migraines, PMS, digestive disturbances, and other women's health concerns. I have been doing Reiki for animals on an informal basis since 2000, but now include it as part of my professional practice, and currently volunteer at a cat sanctuary in Folsom, offering Reiki and socializing the cats. Although Reiki is not a substitute for qualified veterinary care, it is a wonderful complimentary therapy, offering energetic support for the animal's healing process, relieving stress, and allowing the animal to relax deeply. Reiki enhances the animal's vital life force energy, flowing to wherever it is most needed. In August 2013, I completed the Reiki II for Animals course with Kathleen Prasad, an internationally recognized expert in this field, and recently completed the Shinpiden and Animal Reiki III Teacher Training with her. I plan to be offering Shoden and Animal Reiki Training (Level 1 - the basics) sometime this fall.When giving Reiki to people, the session is straightforward. The person gets onto the table, and I do a hands-on session. With animals, they may or may not want direct hands-on contact, so I always offer them a choice. I open the Reiki field, and invite them in. They may prefer to sit or lay down next to me, or spend some time on my lap. They might go in and out of the Reiki field, or settle down a few feet away from me, and take a "Reiki nap." The session is always directed by what the animal wants. Reiki is never forced, and supports what the animal wants, which may be recovery and health, or may assist him or her in a peaceful transition. Sessions are done off-site, where the owner's animal is most comfortable, which may be at their home, or depending on circumstances, at the veterinarian's office.
