The purpose of the position Team Leader Child Safeguarding is to advise, support, set standards and provide a framework in which line management can be held to account on fulfilling their safeguarding responsibilities. The Team Leader Child Safeguarding, in close cooperation with regional offices, support the anchoring of a child safeguarding approach fit for purpose across the SOS Children’s Villages federation in the General Secretariat, in member associations, with all staff, in all operations, functions, and programmes.

The mission of the child safeguarding advisor is to be a 'resource hub' and support to functions,and regions in their efforts to ensure that children who are directly and indirectly cared for andsupported through SOS Children's Villages Programmes are safe and protected.- Development and implementation of organizational policies and procedures on child safeguarding - Provide support to the COO's office and regional offices to ensure the implementation of effective and transparent reporting and responding processes and procedures.- Conduct assessments and analyse key trends in child protection, child safeguarding, and related topics across regions.- In co-operation with regional offices monitor the implementation of the Child Protection Policy and the organisations compliance to International Safeguarding Standards. This includes organizing the Level 1 external certification with Keeping Children Safe (successfully achieved in 2017) and conducting internal child safeguarding audits.- Organizing and supporting internal child safeguarding investigations on different levels of the organization.- Facilitate cross regional and external knowledge sharing on child safeguarding with a strong focus on prevention and capacity building.
