Completed bachelor's and master's degree in chemistry at the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology in Ljubljana, with the focus on analytical chemistry. Both degrees were obtained in collaboration with Jožef Stefan Institute (JSI), where I obtained the core of the skills in analytical chemistry, radiochemistry and spectrometric/spectroscopic techniques. Continued the career path at JSI as a PhD candidate, where I was engaged in the analysis of mercury (Hg) in environmental samples, with the focus on the metrology of atmospheric mercury species. Most notably, the work on validation studies and method development for atmospheric mercury speciation resulted in first-authorship of a research article that was featured as the cover of the journal Analytical Chemistry (https://pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/acs.analchem.2c00260). After completing the PhD, I received full-time position as a Postdoctoral research fellow on University of Nevada, Reno where I am currently continuing work on atmospheric mercury and holding a semester-long course Environmental Pollution.
