I am passionately committed to developing education projects which engage people, places and landscape. As an environmental artist and education officer. I use the medium of education and art practice to help support landscape and heritage projects and connect young people and communities to their natural environment. I love working in partnership with like minded individuals and organisations forming collaborative teams. Through my current job with Dumfries and Galloway Councils countryside team, I hope to work with others to restore landscapes and create biodiversity within the river catchments, glens, hills and marine coastline of Dumfries and Galloway. Many people have become disconnected from the natural world, its rythmns, and seasons, so because of this and the fact an increasing number of young people are spending so much time indoors on tech. I am interested in the health benefits of re-wilding people, reconnecting them with nature/the great outdoors. Creative and educational practices can help stimulate conversations and actions to help raise awareness and find practical solutions at a community level to address the NatureClimate crisis and benefit peoples wellbeing. Specialties: Environmental art, public art, land art, nature art, visual studies, sculpture and installation.
