Recommendations to decision-makers are based on published research and ICES findings. The organization primarily operates within the EU, focusing on the Baltic Sea region.Government funding, decided on annually, forms a significant portion of FishSec's budget, alongside project grants from international foundations.Responsibilities include leadership, financial management, securing funding, and policy advocacy.Notable achievements include halting targeted cod fishing in the Baltic Sea, prompting EU action against bullying, capacity-building for environmental movements in Denmark, and uniting the EU environmental movement behind a common fishing quota advisory.

It needs action.The role involved focusing on developing new regional campaign strategies and the new long-term strategy for Greenpeace's global organization, including:• Developing a Nordic campaign plan to ensure that the new trade agreements between the USA and EU (Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership, TTIP), and between EU - Canada (Comprehensive Economic Trade Agreement, Ceta) do not undermine environmental standards and the ability to regulate future environmentally harmful activities.• External analysis and development of Greenpeace International's Long Term Global Framework, the global organization's new 10-year strategy.Responsibilities:• Representing Greenpeace in consultations with government agencies and other stakeholders on EU negotiations on TTIP• Highlighting how TTIP threatened to undermine environmental legislation in EU member states on social media• Spokesperson for the various scandals revealed in connection with various drafts of the TTIP and CETA leaked from the negotiations• Coordinating communication with other offices internationally• Representing Greenpeace Nordic in the work on the new Long Term Global FrameworkResults:• Greenpeace was able to expose serious deficiencies for the environment and labor rights by publishing leaked drafts of the trade agreement, contributing to the major popular protests against the agreement. This suited Trump perfectly, who advocated a more protectionist trade agenda.• Negotiations on TTIP were halted by US President Donald Trump, who initiated a trade conflict with the EU. Trump and the EU declared a sort of truce in July 2018 and resumed negotiations. In April 2019, the European Commission declared the negotiations "no longer relevant." A Pyrrhic victory, as Trump's policies were a blow to all climate and environmental efforts in the USA.• Greenpeace's new 10-year strategy

The role also involved representing Greenpeace as a spokesperson in all types of public forums and media.Responsibilities:• Political lobbying: Close contacts with MP:s, government officials, ministers, and authorities.• Fisheries policy reform: Lead a campaign aimed at reforming EU fisheries policy.• Marine protected areas: Responsible for enabling the protection of marine environments within EU legislation and international waters through UN agreements.• Swedish spokesperson for Greenpeace's international campaign to save the bluefin tuna, a campaign that has borne fruit in recent years. The bluefin tuna is once again found in Nordic waters, largely due to ICCAT finally tightening management.• Crisis management: Member of the group that managed the crisis of the 'Arctic 30 activists,' when 30 Greenpeace colleagues were kidnapped by Russia during a protest in the Arctic.Results:• Raised the issue of overcapacity in fishing fleets by making the report "Fishers who Cheat", showing how Swedish shrimp fishermen systematically illegally dumped less valuable small shrimp into the sea to increase profitability.• Showed how overfishing affects the third world in the report "Exporting Exploitation," which demonstrated how Swedish fishing vessels were exported to be used for exploiting fish resources in occupied territorial waters in Western Sahara.• Organized an international legal expert workshop in Sweden House, Brussels, to investigate how fishing can be regulated in marine protected areas outside the territorial waters of EU member states.• Contributed to initiating the UN negotiations on the creation of marine reserves in international waters. The so-called BBNJ process recently made it possible to protect marine environments outside territorial waters.

The guide was regularly published and had a huge impact in trade press and mainstream media for a long time.Results - a selection:• Launching reports. One of many examples is the launch of the Greenpeace Energy (R)evolution scenario in 2008. Reports were often the foundation of communication efforts.• Politicians talk – leaders act! Swedish communications manager for the climate meeting in Copenhagen in 2009.• Developed the international slogan Marine Reserves – Now! The central message for a global campaign to create more and larger marine reserves, primarily in international waters.• Stop illegal fishing! (2006) Campaign to urge responsible authorities to address illegal fishing for cod in the Baltic Sea and the Barents Sea.• Save the whales! Responsible for communication, events, and PR to stop whale hunting and to get Sweden to support international rules protecting whales from other serious threats, such as maritime traffic. As a result, Sweden was a strong voice for saving the whales.

The operations were initially based in the KFUMs premises at Betaniaplan but have been located at Monbijougården since 2007.The freelance agency was founded in 1997 by me along with journalists Erika Augustinsson and Mia Odabas, as well as photographers Björn Larsson, Bonny Håkansson, and Håkan Röjder.Clients included, among others, Svenska Dagbladet, Dagens Industri, magazines such as Kapital and Dolly, Finanstidningen, Sydsvenskan, Magasinet Area, and more.It's very rewarding to see that the freelance agency still thrives under the same name and concept 27 years later.
