Commercialization of Probabilistic Computing research.

NSF I-Corps is a federal program that provides funding, mentorship and training to researchers and scientists to turn their ideas into successful startups. The program aims to commercialize cutting-edge technologies and promote innovation and entrepreneurship in the United States.In the process we interviewed 100+ potential customers in the context of probabilistic computing hardware. We identified key problems in the industry and set up a business canvas.

•Co-pioneered the design of advanced probabilistic accelerators for machine learning, optimization and sampling utilizing cutting-edge spintronic hardware technology.•Successfully demonstrated the application of machine learning techniques using novel spintronic devices in a proof-of-concept experiment, showcasing potential for real-world implementation.•Developed cloud-based FPGA accelerators for various Monte Carlo algorithms, tackling computationally challenging problems with exceptional efficiency.•Conducted comprehensive benchmarking of developed hardware accelerators against traditional platforms, such as CPUs and GPUs, resulting in significant performance improvements.

•Developed an iterative numerical model for determining coupling between a diagnostics probe and the surrounding plasma, providing a deeper understanding of the underlying physics.•Utilized mathematics software, Mathematica, to simulate the behavior of electrons and ions in two different models, uncovering new insights into the dynamics of plasma systems.

• Conducted an investigation into the intricacy of nanoscale heat transport in metallic films, taking into account the impact of ballistic phonon transport.• Developed an electric circuit model to simulate heat propagation, showcasing an ability to design and implement complex systems.• Utilized an analog electric circuit simulator (Xyce) to simulate heat flow for a range of different materials and boundary conditions, displaying technical expertise and proficiency in simulation tools.
