I am teaching on the Cranberry Isles in a two room school, k-8. This is a co-teaching position where we share the responsibilities of educating 10 students in grades kindergarten through eighth grade.

Title I teacher in K-5 school responsible for math support for children in grades first through five. Plan and implement lessons for small groups and individual students supporting the Everyday Math curriculum using a variety of resources and materials to adapt lessons to students’ individual needs. Administer the KeyMath3 Assessment to determine eligibility for the Title I math program. Plan and attend parent-teacher conferences and parent nights. Co-teacher in a third grade classroom helping out where there were two very difficult special education students who required a lot of attention. Working under the supervision of the head teacher as a coequal. Taught math and reading lessons primarily.

Title I teacher in k-5 school responsible for reading and math support for children in grades first through fourth. Planned and implemented lessons for small groups and individual students supporting the Everyday Math curriculum and using Beverly Tynor’s “Small Group Reading Instruction”, Wilson Reading and other programs to develop a curriculum that would fit the individual needs of my students.

Librarian in a K-2 school responsible for the library program. Taught library skills and read stories to 13 classes. Supported teachers in the classroom with materials related to curriculum. Met monthly with other district librarians to discuss professional issues. Prepared a library budget.

Special education support in an eighth grade emotional and behavioral program that involved academic support in the regular education classroom for five students. Taught Wilson Reading to one student four days per week.

Title I Math support in grades first through fifth. Provided in-class support and worked with individuals and small groups using the Everyday Math curriculum.

Managed the day-to-day operations of this non-profit school. Interviewed and hired teachers for preschool through 8th grade. Conducted weekly staff meetings; coordinated teacher education workshops. Taught conflict resolution skills to multi-age classes. Substituted in all grades when teaching staff was absent. Met regularly with parents; involved parents in school activities. Participated in PET process at public schools to plan / review IEP’s for students. Prepared budgets; worked cooperatively with Board of Directors.
