After spending career in Information Technology, followed by teaching and working as Finance Officer for her cousin's construction firm, Jan is now having fun with writing, drawing, painting, singing and songwriting.

Last effort with STLCC was as a writer working on the MoHealthWins grant program. I authored several chapters in the Carnegie Melon EHR course in conjunction with Stanford University and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Acting as facilitator for on-line Culture of Healthcare and back up on the EHR on-line course. That EHR course is based on the ONC HITECH curriculum. I am also writing curriculum pages for the OLI curriculum development of the CAHIMS Exam training in conjunction with the Carnegie Mellon and Bellevue Community College teams.I was also a member of the team that developed the ONC HITECH curriculum for St. Louis Community College. I facilitated 4 cohorts and approximately 150 students through the curriculum over 2 years. I developed and taught the Electronic Health Records course for several semesters. I previously taught Health Care Billing & Reimbursement in the Health Information Technology program at Forest Park Community College.

Finance, Tax, Reporting and General Ledger responsibilities.

I took a position with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Missouri as a Team Lead in the Interplan Telecommunication Systems support area in 1995. Over the next 11 years, I moved up to Manager in the Data Warehouse department. In 2000, BCBSMo was bought out by WellPoint. At that point, my position moved WellPoint corporate.I managed a team of business, systems and data analysts located across the USA during the last 5 years of my work with WellPoint. My team supported back end reporting for customers across the USA, both internal and external. We supported provider reporting, cost and quality of care analytic reporting, regulatory reporting, including HEDIS and NCQA, and a wide variety of other applications.I took early retirement from WellPoint in 2006.
