Classroom teacher. Began as a substitute and provided substitute classroom coverage, both day-to-day and long term, in all secondary subject areas. I have contributed to continuity of instruction, and developed close relationships with students, faculty and administration, which often does not occur with substitute teachers. Classroom instruction in English and Speech classes in a variety of formats. My favorite teaching moment happened when I team-taught a combined Honors level English Composition/Public Speaking class. I had the Public Speaking component, while my colleague handled the English Composition. It was one of those moments all teachers live for as the students worked with the Veterans History Project to collect oral histories of veterans, which were then published. They learned how to collect oral histories, how to transcribe them and gained real connections that brought the class to life. Transformative for student and teacher!I have also served as a Tutor in the College's Writing Center, assisting students in a variety of disciplines and at Developmental, Regular and Honors levels.From 2009-2012 I coordinated publicity, marketing, game management and web development for an 8-sport junior college athletic program. I was the school's first-ever Sports Information Director, and earned the designation of Certified Public Address Announcer, from the National Association of Sports PA Announcers. As Athletics was a part of the Learning Support Division, I assisted in the Admissions, Registration, Student Activities and Advising offices and am familiar with all aspects of Student support.

Also served as Assistant Athletic Director, yearbook advisor and Class of 2016 sponsor. Developed two new courses - Journalism and Public Speaking, and created an assignment where students memorized the Gettysburg Address, learning one line per day.

I was staff liaison to the Alumni Association, Coordinator of the Annual Fund, and pursued gifts to establish and enhance named and "pass through" scholarship funds. The Annual Fund showed a 78 percent increase over the previous campaign. I established a Faculty/Staff Giving Campaign, primarily through payroll deduction and directed Sponsorship Sales for the college's signature event including creation of giving levels and in-kind contributions.When I moved to the Continuing Education and Training Division, I coordinated community outreach, website development, Adjunct Faculty Development and managed a financial aid fund for Continuing Education/non-credit students, the first in the state. I also managed the college's sponsorship of "Leadership Carroll" along with the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce. The 2001 class began their year-long program on September 11th, giving us all a touchstone.
