Working back with Springboard gives me the opportunity to continually work with individuals working their way back into employment, over coming barriers and upskilling in the Hospitality Industry and with our associated partners across the UK. Working through Covid19, Furlough then redundancy it has given me the opportunity to work on my Personal Development and learn new skills involved in the now Digital focused world we live in. Resilience, passion, determination, adapting and open to change is what has got me to where I am today. All this tops up the skills set I have gained in this industry over the last five years.

In January 2016 I undertook my GTC (Group Training Certificate) with People First, this together with my PVG, Intermediate REHIS and other qualifications gave me the opportunity of becoming a Freelance Trainer specialising in the Hospitality Industry. These qualifications have taken me over various parts of Scotland presenting various training programmes to a variety of different people from different backgrounds. I am currently adding to my portfolio to enable me to deliver additional programmes in the Licencing side of the Hospitality Industry. Over the last 10 months I have expanded my portfolio with the work I do with ASN students. Working with young adults is about as rewarding as it gets. Helping our future workforce into the Industry is a huge reward in itself. Working with Springboard Scotland and delivering a variety of their programmes include Diageo Learning for Life and Face2Face has given me the opportunity to help many young people into work. I also work with Tennents Training Academy delivering kitchen based training programmes. I am constantly working to increase my training to help others move forward into the work place. JM Training understands the need for patience, compassion and the realisation that not one size fits all, there is sometime the need to adapt the programme slightly to work for a specific audience. Thats where the ability to think on your feet and put into practice without preparation is a huge advantage, continuing the training session with a seemless flow. I have just recently gained my SPLH Certificate adding this to my BIIAB Training Centre list of qualifications that can be delivered from just one phone call.

Working with SLC started my journey into becoming a cook. Working in school kitchens then finishing off in the kitchen of an Adult Learning Centre. This specifically gave me the opportunity of working with adults and young people with additional mental and or physical support needs. I also gained experience of working with people with dementia and alziemers disease. This is where I decided I had a neche for working in the ASN sector.

Advertising & Media distribution company across the whole of Scotland and North East of England. Working with national advertising agencies and Newspaper groups throughout the UK. Delivering products and services by way of direct marketing to a specifically targetted audience. This involved working with a minimum of 48 crews of distributors at anyone time to meet the clients' demands. Working with maps and the logistics of the physical distribution of as many as 20+ items at any one time. On top of the administration side of the job there was also the physical side - ensuring the crews were working to the industry standards set out to keep JBK Solutions Ltd's reputation second to none.

Distribution Manager for The Glaswegian and their sister paper The Edinburgh & Lothians Post - both free newspapers. Progressing to this role from the GM's PA., I worked in conjunction with staff from the Daily Record and Sunday Mail to develope the distribution network for The Glaswegian, Once launched and up and running we identified there was an opportunity to increase revenue with the help of offering our clients the option to have their advertising materials set inside the newspapers for an immediat quick hit. A few years later the group bought over The Edinburgh & Lothians Post, which became the Glaswegians sister paper. Part of my responsibilities was to ensure the leaflet and sample distribution grew and thus increasing the revenue. I also worked in Sales for the Daily Record & Sunday Mail for a short time,.
