William E. Durr Branch - Kenton County Public Library

For the past two years, I have professionalized the Interlibrary Loan processes and procedures at the Kenton County Public Library. Working directly for the Durr Branch Manager, I have completed policy revisions, training items and WebCasts. I have increased the number of borrowers and lenders through proactive and swift attention to detail, prompt processing of all requests, and thorough follow up on any and all issues brought to my attention. Interlibrary Loan is a challenging position--never boring--and I recently became the manager to one full-time employee. Mary Ann Mongan Branch - Kenton County Public Library

As Kentucky History Librarian, I initiated a tremendously popular genealogy discussion group (called "Congenealogy") which brought family historians in from Ohio and across Northern Kentucky. I also developed numerous presentations on genealogy, cemeteries, sacred art and architecture, Northern Kentucky's artists and their works, while also leading cemetery tours of Linden Grove Cemetery, Mother of God Cemetery, Highland Cemetery, and Independence Cemetery. I also processed all of the research requests sent to the History Department from all over the United States and beyond. Additionally, I submitted a large number of "Genealogy Tips" to the Kentucky Post before its closure. I also contributed ideas for the Library's Facebook page, identified links to be added to the History Webpage's resources, and developed a keen knowledge of the Kentucky History collection at KCPL by working many hours on the Reference Desk, assisting patrons with their family history research.

Newport Branch - Campbell County Public Library System

Answer reference questions and assisted patrons in locating research/reading materials; Provide instructional guidance to patron in use of computerized card catalog, electronic resources, general software, and Internet use; Process membership applications and maintain membership files; Compile statistics on door count, photocopies and reference questions; Coordinate interlibrary loans for Newport branch; Provide readers' advisory to phone-in and walk-in patrons; Call on overdue materials and reserves and send notices when appropriate; Plan and implement Adult Summer Reading Program for Newport Branch

Answered basic reference questions and provided general assistance to patrons, also determined when requests should be referred to a Reference Librarian; Assisted patrons in the use of computerized catalog, electronic periodical indexes, and databases, Internet access and general software; Shelved reference materials and performed shelf reading duties; Performed general clerical duties, including maintaining and updating administrative documents and training materials for Reference Department managers and staff.

As Credit Coordinator, I managed credit maintenance and collection activities for entire Star-Kist Seafood retail and export customer base; Interfaced with sales force, brokers, internal and external management for resolution of unexplained payments, deduction discrepancies, and delinquent obligations; As Boat Accountant, I audited final fish settlements received from production facilities to ensure accuracy and completeness of required documentation; Reconciled monthly transactions to the general ledger; Reviewed disbursement requests to ensure compliance with established financial policies and prompt identification/resolution of exposure issues.
