Jan Puszynski retired from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in 2019 after 28 years of service as a professor of chemical engineering (1991-2019), dean (2001-2006), vice president for research (2014-2019), and interim president (2017-2018). In 1999, he started the small company, Innovative Materials and Processes, to promote SBIR activities in South Dakota. Over the years, the company has grown from few employees to eighteen in 2022.Jan has had a very active research career. He has published over three hundred scientific papers and received several patents. Also, he received several national and international awards. He is a fellow of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE).Since 2019, he serves as a CEO of Innovative Materials and Processes.
