Selected to independently review grants for the Dana Brown Charitable Trust (DBCT). In late 2023, the DBCT adopted a process to recruit and retain a Grant Review Committee comprised of non-profit and business leaders in the St. Louis Community. I will be assigned, along with three (3) other committee members to review submissions of Letters of Intent (LOIs), applications and vote to allocate awards for the Spring or Fall DBCT grant cycle for the duration of my term. In addition to my review of submissions during the grant cycle, I will work closely with the DBCT Executive Director and Grant Chair providing feedback and when available, attending agency visits and events to better understand the impact of the allocated awards and grant requests.The Dana Brown Charitable Trust funds organizations in the St. Louis area that support and provide for the health, education, and welfare of financially disadvantaged children and programs that enable children to expand their knowledge of the world and nature through programs that feature wild animals. The trust has awarded, through a grant process, more than 99 million dollars, to over 456 unique non-profit organizations serving the St. Louis metropolitan area in the 29 years it has been in place.

Providing consulting services and coaching to help develop and implement plans to generate financial resources to fund and expand non-profit programs. Focus on major gifts and planned giving fundraising; establishing and developing relationships with major donors that include individuals, corporate and foundations. Works with Executive Officers, Board of Directors and fundraising leadership team to develop strategies to reach revenue goals, communications opportunities and fulfill volunteer needs. Prepares and administers department expense and revenue budgets to meet fundraising goals. Expertise: Non-profit leadership, strategic planning, program development and team building management, major gifts, planned giving, grant development, capital campaigns and volunteer recruitment and management.

Member of the Executive Team responsible for setting vision and mission for St. Patrick Center, the largest provider of homeless services in Missouri, with 20+ programs for housing, employment and mental health services assisting more than 8,000 persons annually.Responsible for $3+ million dollars in major gifts fundraising, special projects, advocacy and board development. Focused on major gift fundraising that included individual, corporate and foundation campaigns. Responsible for all aspects of securing tax credits and donors to raise $1+ million dollars from three Missouri State Tax Credit funding. Established and recruited Board of Directors for the BEGIN incubator program at SPC. Led Board and community involvement in developing new concept and location of McMurphy's Grill - the first client employment training program in this country.

Member of the Executive Team responsible for setting vision and mission for St. Patrick Center, the largest provider of homeless services in Missouri, with 20+ programs for housing, employment and mental health services assisting more than 8,000 persons annually.Developed and implemented plans to generate financial resources to fund and expand programs to support the agency’s $14+ million dollar operating budget. In addition was responsible for securing $7+ million dollars for capital funding.Reinforced community support and promoted St. Patrick Center as a leader and expert in providing recovery services to people who were homeless and those at-risk of becoming homeless. Provided oversight to Board of Directors, Executive and Governance Committees and managed 14 member development, communications and volunteer services team.Highlights: Expanded agency’s funding from $4 million to $14 million, plus $7 + million in capital fundraising. Established the Board of Trustees, an active group of leadership volunteers, launched major events: Sports Trivia, Pot O” Gold and Key Player Initiative and increased Irish Open revenue from $150,000 to $800,000.

Directed the major gifts program, membership, and donor and member events. Annually raised $3 million in major gifts and increased direct marketing revenue to over $1 million.

Directed the expansion of the development department from a three-person shop to a team of 10 fundraising professionals. Career highlights include leading disaster fundraising campaigns that raised over $15 million for the 1993 Midwest floods and $4 million for Hurricane Andrew in 1992. Recognized by the National American Red Cross for innovative corporate campaign “Save the Day” and “Future Leaders Cabinet” volunteer program. Appointed to the Missouri State Campaign Management Team. Selected to represent the St. Louis Bi-State Chapter in the national Leadership in the 21st Century program. Directed $1 million+ annual direct mail program.
