Being involved in running a family business before leaving school gave me good grounding in surviving the “market”, public service and community cohesion/development. Over the years I have cultivated skills and expertise through my experience of working across the public, private and voluntary housing sectors; my working perspective would best be described as keenly diverse which allows me to respond analytically and quickly to changing and potentially dangerous situations within a legal framework. As a qualified building surveyor working within a legislative framework, I have been instrumental in influencing safer housing policies and practices resulting improved/ safer living conditions, changing lives as a consequence. My technical skills and expertise coupled with an in-depth legislative background and keen strategic thinking sanctions me to provide a 3600 housing solution.A keen interest in social housing and policy propelled me to serving on the Board of Mosscare Housing Ltd. Chairing Housing Delivery Committee for many years; latterly elected and appointed as Chair of MHL in 2014. As with all my colleagues at Mosscare Housing Group I am proud to be able to contribute to the “Mosscare Magic”.Never being known not to shy away from resolving a situation and striving for equality and fairness I am bursting with enthusiasm, innovation and pride to be a founding Director of Collaborative Women UK working with my friend and business partner/ co-director Grace McCorkle. Collaborative Women was born out of a passion to help marginalised women along the pathway from crisis to independence. Our objective is to provide safe, affordable living environments in addition to cultivating a plethora of skills to empower the women to forge their own self-sufficient futures and break the cycle and silence of violence against women.
