This is mainly due to the lack of cost awareness. Most Quantity Surveyors I have met so far don't know the price per square meter of a finished wall when using traditional site mix. They will probably know the price for a bag of cement but don't take into account all the surrounding costs like sand, labour, road and site transport or waste.
