Setting up the systems management department for the new internal datacenters of Holland’s largest telecom company and have been responsible for this team of 40 professionals until the activities were transferred to the internal Getronics Datacenters which had been acquired by KPN.After some time the activities were offshored to India and after several years actions were initiated to reshore most of the work.During the offshoring period I have mainly been acting as the “technical conscience” of the manager, as he himself calls it, and mainly been concerned with the quality of the delivered services (3500+ servers) by the systems department. This included problem management, product selections and implementations, second opinions and process optimizations.

As Country Manager ICT, I was responsible for all ICT-related issues in the different countries and during the last year I was working as Global ICT Manager for the complete worldwide organisation (1500 employees in 18 countries).Responsible for the world wide network (a.o. frame relay- and satellite connections), license management, anti-virus policies, internet access, software- and hardware standards, contract management, procurement, security, telephony in the Netherlands, first line support in the Netherlands, second line support support to the international subsidiaries, drafting and administering budgets. Leading a team of 15 people (Network management, NT management, Exchange management, Baan management, UNIX management). Confer with the ICT managers in the various countries to ensure that local ICT infrastructures remained in step with the centrally developed standards and procedures.
