Total value spent under my management was DKK 300 million+ per year in the areas of chemical raw materials, packaging, commodities and logistics. In my position as purchasing & project manager, I was heading the departments for packaging development, project management and strategic purchasing. I was leading 7 employees split between 3 strategic buyers, 3 project managers and an artwork coordinator. I was part of the company's top management team.Under my leadership we created a clear project structure, dramatically lowered the number of process errors during new product development and launch, increased speed to market and implemented several new packaging innovations. After 3 months in the job, I launched a plan, which were to create yearly savings of DKK 15 mio. within 1 year. The plan called for changes in the department. We separated strategic and operational purchasing, so I was leading the 3 employees of strategic purchasing. We reached the DKK 15 mio. savings target. Within 1 year the company's results improved from -8 million. kr. to +5.5 million. kr.In 2013 my responsibility and job title changed to purchasing & project manager, as I got responsibility for a new department taking care of packaging development and project management together with my existing job heading the strategic purchasing department. -
Sourcing ManagerDansk Supermarked Dec 2007 - Nov 2011Århus Area, DenmarkTripling both total savings and spend covered and gained a lot of international experience. I was overall responsible for the sourcing within all product groups for all Dansk Supermarked chain concepts (across International borders). Procurement budget was more than DKK 1 billion on a yearly basis. My primary task was to build a sourcing department and culture within the company in order to spread and develop Dansk Supermarked’s international sourcing & E-sourcing. Main strategic focus was to create International collaboration (inspiring buyers with benchmarking and using internal sales tactics), identify savings potential and performing effective negotiation. Under my management savings and spend covered tripled within the sourcing department. Also, I was the driver behind a big spend management project for the whole Dansk Supermarked group. Before ending my Dansk Supermarked I initiated and run a project, where we outsourced all daily rutine work to Maersk employees located in Mumbai, India. I had a great interface with suppliers in many different business areas worldwide. I learned to foster collaboration across different cultures in an International company with presence in 5 European countries and a global supplier base. The job has also given me a very structured and analytical approach to procurement and project management.My career at Dansk Supermarked gave me great skills within: procurement in general, strategic procurement, procurement in Asia and 3rd World countries, category management, project management, negotiation based on total cost of ownership, sourcing, E-sourcing, spend analysis and budgeting/finance control plus a large network to be used within most business areas.
