Helsinki. My initial employment was part of the acquisition deal of Redbeard Consulting B.V. and tied to an earn–out. Created and headed a new Practice Area; Procurement, consisting 100% of new business. Our clients were in the Top 5 in client billings and often Top 1 in profitability as all our assignments were based on success fees. Based in Helsinki I worked on-site only abroad in approximately 20 countries. Started as Senior Consultant and promoted to Associate Principal (VP) within 1,5 years. Madrid. Founded the e-business consulting firm together with 3 partners. Redbeard Consulting B.V. was based in Amsterdam. Redbeard consulted the forest products industry and its customers. I brought in clients with turnover of between 2 and 10 billion euros. Our exit strategy priority at the time of foundation was to be acquired by the Pöyry Group. Madrid. PaperExchange was the leading Internet marketplace for the paper industry. I was responsible for Spain and certain major clients in Finland. Brought some of the first transactions to our European marketplace. Helped develop the platform and create business solutions. PaperExchange closed down when the Internet bubble burst.

Madrid. Sent from Divisional Head Office to start and to develop the local technical service function. Created relations to most customers Technical Directors. Put in place tools and processes with many great results like reducing our claims handling time by 80% in 10 months. Was promoted to Sales Manager within 1,5 years to see over a client portfolio of 15 million euros and head a client segment. Headed the Kymmene one-man market data team in the merger squad formed of four companies that put together all market and sales data for the Antitrust Task Force in Brussels.UPM-Kymmene. Part of the business development team and with focus on end-uses of our products. Increased divisional management’s understanding of end uses and their business dynamics. Provided specific input to the divisional strategy process. Co-founded rock band Wighthouse Wanderland. We were signed to Fazer Finnlevy (Warner Music) based on our first demo song. Relased one single and one album. I co-wrote songs, managed business affairs, booked gigs, arranged TV apperances and interviews for the band.
