People always tell me they've never met anyone who loves their work more than I do. Why do I love what I do? All day every day I get to think about math, do math, and find ways to improve mathematics education. I spend my days working with amazing teams to develop authentic, engaging, and accessible insturctional materials for teachers and students. I brainstorm about the next best products in EdTech and help bring them to market. I'm a people person who is honest, authentic, and transparent. I love being a manager and helping others grow and achieve success. I'm known for establishing and maintaining thriving, safe-space work communities and providing the people I manage the space and independence they need to thrive. My strengths as a member of cross-functional teams include being a reflective listener, a beacon of flexibility, an innovative thinker, and a staunch advocate.Demanding, ambiguous projects? No problem. How did I get here?After deciding that science research did allow me enough face-to-face time with people, I spent 15 years in the classroom trenches teaching grades 6-12 science and math. I left to spend more time with my family. Since then I have contributed management skills and math content to a variety of projects for a variety of companies, bringing some awesome new products to market.I am an accomplished mathematics curriculum developer, with expertise in differentiation, UDL, language supports, learning routines, formative and summative assessment, and digital content creation for grades 5-12.
