I am an art lawyer representing art market participants in all stages of the creation, licensing, sale, lending, gifting, merchandising, and display of art. I frequently work cross-practice with other Wilson Elser attorneys specializing in trusts and estates, taxation and bankruptcy to represent artists, collectors and buyers, sellers, insurers, gallerists and dealers, consultants and museums. Transactional matters include, but are not limited to, artist-dealer agreements, consignment agreements, art loans, art purchase and sale agreements, protection of intellectual property and moral rights, and licensing. I also handle complex intellectual property and commercial litigation, including copyright infringement, fair use and appropriation, trademark and trade dress infringement, licensing disputes, counterfeit goods, defamation, right of publicity, breach of contract, deceptive business practice claims and tortious interference with contract. I am a member of New York State Bar Association Entertainment Arts & Sports Law (EASL) Section and a contributor to EASL's Week in Review blog. I am also a member of New York State Bar Association Fine Arts Committee. I speak and publish articles on art law topics and provide pro bono services for Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts.
