Cameronbridge Distillery

• Developed and drove the site’s improvement strategy by building an project pipeline for the next financial year and beyond

• Successfully completed Six Sigma Yellow Belt projects. Coached teams in focused and continuous improvement tools (DMAIC, RCPS, PDCA) which has allowed the site to resolve performance issues.

Menstrie

• Developing the ISC Quality Strategy and influencing the Global 2025 roadmap.
• Driving continuous improvement at all levels on our production sites and at our suppliers, as well as procurement and other areas of the business, to achieve the targets for Excellence in Quality.
• Reviewed the 3rd Party Reworker quality standards, clarified Diageo’s expectations on quality and rolled out training to reworkers & project managers to improve & standardise the Gift packaging programme management for.

Menstrie

• Commercialised new to world spirits which includes blending gold standard liquids and establishing specifications against which the sites will measure production samples.
• Worked closely with the global development team during the initial stages of a new project. Identified liquid, ingredient and process risks and put mitigations in place. As timeline was tight, this also involved.

Leven

- Successfully complete projects from literature search, through laboratory method development and validation to pilot plant scale for adaptation to commercial distillery scale- Observe data trends, adjusting parameters as needed on semi-manual mashing, fermentation and distillation equipment, collect relevant data and interpret results using Microsoft.

• Studied the environmental fate of agrochemicals in soils
• Trained to working to GLP standards including following standard operating procedures and accurate record keeping
• Responsible for weekly moisture adjustments of test soils, trap sampling and preparation of soils and surface waters for biomass and radiochemical analysis as well as solvent preparation for HPLC

• created specification databases for various packaging materials, implementated the databases into a worldwide system and communicated these changes to various departments worldwide
• provided technical support to a carton tendering exercise
• tested packaging material including closures and cartons. Latter included travelling to a storage site in Germany to help resolve a failure crisis
• completed Supplier Quality Assurance and Presentation training courses as well as a Glass Appreciation course with Allied Glass
• visited various production sites for spirits and packaging where hygiene, health and safety were importantTowards the end of the year, assisted in the liquid laboratory including:
• independently completed daily quality control tests in the liquid laboratory
