It Direktør, CioEdc-Gruppen A/S Aug 2015 - Sep 2016Frederiksberg C, DkI worked as the CIO of EDC Gruppen. The responsibilities covered the IS/IT area, including digital solutions to all real estate brokers of the EDC group. The CIO is member of the executive team and refers to the CEO.I joined EDC gruppen because it gave excellent opportunities to get hands-on experience with digital business, and to take part in the digital battles in the financial sector, which thrives in large community networks and is becoming ever-more digital. -
Senior Vice President, CioFl Smidth A/S May 2007 - Jul 2015During 2007-2014 I worked for FLSmidth as the CIO, building a global IS/IT organization with strong off-shoring centers and a well-working global system set-up supporting the international enterprise operations. I was in FLSMIDTH during its most recent prime and took part in a great and challenging journey from a "Cement factories" to a "Minerals EPCM" company. We conducted a series of stabilizing and upgrading projects with subsequent global roll-out of unified business systems and practices. The unified platform investment started in 2008 and paid back in 2011, before the completion of all projects. While this IS/IT action plan was executed the company grew from 6000 to 15800 employees. More than 100 legal entities were acquired in more than 10 transactions. This growth doubled the size of the platform and the planned integration efforts consequently increasing the scope of the next IS/IT strategy. It really gave me a global, holistic view on people, their aspirations, motivation and development potential. We created a truly global organization in which everybody within the IS/IT area took pride in the journey in creating a great, unified, globally operating company.

Vice President, Cio, Business Processes & Master Data, Facilities, TravelLego Group Mar 2001 - May 2007Billund, DkDuring 2001-2007 I worked for the LEGO Company as VP of Global IS/IT, Business processes and master data, Global Facilitites management, Travel services and Flight department. The LEGO Company is privately owned and has a wonderful, modest and earnest culture which I really enjoyed. The company went through a major crisis in 2003 which included an almost cataclysmic drop in revenue especially in the US and fought off the threat of extinction by a successfully executed turn-around strategy. First priority was therefore right-sizing while maintaining or improving end-user satisfaction and generating significant value through new projects. The group IS/IT function was a strong driver of business improvement activities as well as a strong supporter of business driven initiatives. The main project portfolio was the SAP R/3 implementation portfolio - starting in 2001 with a record breaking short FI/CO/SD implementation - of 20 companies within 9 months - and continuing with other key modules as HR, CRM, SCM (many modules) and APO. The CIO area was also responsible for the technology side of LEGO.com which grew from 2 - 9 million unique visitors per month in a rich-content, high-volume environment. In 2007 the LEGO Company turned almost 20% profits and has outperformed this ever since while doubling its revenue over the last 5 years. The fantastic turn-around journey turned into a true adventure! -
Head Of It DevelopmentPost Denmark Jul 2000 - Feb 2001København S, DkI joined to take part in the digital transformation which I had created together with the CIO and a team of CSC consultants. I managed the development departments and the cross-training, refocusing, adjustment of delivery processes, etc. that were necessary to create an agile, digital delivery organization. It was a great year together with the team, but I decided to leave when I realized that the digital strategy was replaced with a “dress up for sale” instead. -
Managing Consultant, Head Of Technology Management, Advanced Technologies, Project Manager, AnalystComputer Sciences Corporation Jul 1986 - Jun 2000Global, UsCSC acquired Datacentralen in 1995, so while I worked there for 14 years, there were lots of changes making it highly interesting and challenging. I consider these years quite formative.During 1998-2000 I worked as a Managing Consultant in CSC Scandinavia. Most deliveries were related to strategy, architecture, operating model design and digital business cases. Those years with some of the ex-Index guys gave me a fair amount of insights into the world of management consulting, and is the key reason why I really enjoy watching House of Lies In 1993-1998 I managed Advanced Technology Group/Technology Management which became the technology strategy function for CSC Scandinavia, publishing technology recommendations for customers and delivering high-profile technology consulting in the areas of internet and data warehousing. I became fairly well connected internationally, as the Scandinavia representative in the European Leading Edge Forum, as an assessor in the European committee for the global Annual Award of Technical Excellency, as participant in CSC’s European Strategic Alliances Network, in the European Data warehousing Expert Group and in the E-Wave program, CSC’s global product development and marketing effort regarding e-Business.It gave me an excellent insight into what CSC could provide when the best of the best got into action, and created lots of leverage opportunities in marketing and sales between Scandinavia and rest of the world. During 1986-1993 I progressed from supporter, to programmer, to analyst, to consultant, to project manager. I worked with small, high-performing teams on the frontier of online transaction processing – with 4th generation tools like CSP and DB2, and of course a lot of mainframe programs in Cobol, SAS, etc. I was a proud instructor in various tools and in Jackson’s Structured Programming (JSP). -
ProgrammerMinistry Of Finance 1984 - 1986I worked in the Ministry of Finance as a programmer (Fortran, Pascal, SAS and other BI tools). I recently learned from my mentor from those days, that one of my first Pascal programs – a tool for analyzing relationships between variables in macro-economic models - was in production until spring 2015 – how about that?
