Rockwell Fund, Inc. (RFI) is a private, non-profit foundation with assets that amount to approximately $90,000,000. The Association of Fundraising Professionals’ Houston chapter named Rockwell Fund, Inc. “Outstanding Philanthropic Organization” in 2007.Responsibilities Included:• Evaluate proposals for consistency with the foundation’s priorities, community impact, organizational capacity,and sustainability. Review financial statements and budgets submitted with applications:Conduct and report on site visits, and Prepare and present funding recommendations to the foundation’s TrusteesProvide technical assistance, fund development and capacity building support to grantees, foster strategic partnerships between grantees and initiate and promote relationships between grantees and potential funders.• Monitor progress on previously awarded grants, respond to inquiries from Board of Trustees• Oversee grant portfolios for specific focus areas; most recent areas include Health Care, Education, Supportive Housing; previous areas included - Social Services, Arts, Environment, Rural Libraries• Assist in identifying and developing grantmaking strategies for focus areas • Serve as liaison between grant applicants,grant recipients and the Board of Trustees• Represent and promote Rockwell initiatives through leadership and involvement in professional organizations, conferences and other meetingsSelected Accomplishments:• Participated in the fund development to secure seed money for the Community Clinics Funder Collaborative, resulting in an additional $500,000 awarded to date• Created collaborative funding opportunities - leveraged Rockwell Fund grants with outside sources of funding for a select group of other Rockwell grantees, resulting in several hundred thousand dollars in additional funding• Featured Rockwell and Grantees at various conferences to increase awareness about effective grants

GHCVB is the primary sales and marketing arm of the City of Houston and Harris County. Its mission is to improve the economy of Greater Houston by attracting conventions, tourists and international government officials to the area through sales and marketing efforts.Responsibilities:• Managed all volunteer staff of over 125 senior citizens for convention registrations for state and national conventions at the George R. Brown Convention Center and Houston hotels• Established relationships with hospitality associates through participation in hospitality functions and community-related programsSelected Accomplishments:• Received recognition from Bureau for outstanding customer service• Developed and implemented new registration procedures resulting in increased efficiency of the registration process from initial client contact and staff scheduling to on-site management• Successfully produced leads and convention bookings for City of Houston. Conducted site visits, developed proposals, made presentations, planned familiarization trips for local, state and national meeting planners, organized hospitality trade shows.
