This is my 25th year of practicing law in Texas. I am also a Certified Information Privacy Professional (U.S. and Europe) (CIPP/US & CIPP/E), a Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP) and a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). I advise businesses on commercial matters and help them comply with laws regarding privacy and data security/breach notifications. I have a strong interest in business ethics. In addition to a law degree, I earned a Master of Arts in Theological Studies, and I began my career in private practice by working on behalf of unsecured creditors of Enron, which had been decimated by corporate wrongdoing. After many years in commercial litigation, I now enjoy helping business clients with corporate compliance (i.e., litigation prevention). I continue to litigate employment and commercial matters for our corporate clients. I am admitted to all federal and bankruptcy courts in Texas and I also have experience before the American Arbitration Association. Prior to forming Beckstead Terry PLLC in 2014, I was associated with the bankruptcy and litigation practices of top-tier law firms.
