Internship at the department of Loads Analysis and Aeroelastic Design, Topic of the internship:"Investigation of gust loads on commercial aircraft applying the quasi-steady Pratt method”- Investigated gust and maneuver loads on an intern Airbus/DLR aircraft research model and conducted FE-analysis within MSC Nastran/MSC Patran as well as the DLR in-house tool Loads Kernel- Led an extensive literature review on deflection rate limits of control surfaces- Conducted simulations to prove feasibility of Pratt method in estimating maximum root bending moments in commercial aircraft configurations; compared results to transient methods- Created a feedback control system decreasing gust induced bending moments by up to 7%
