Having spent initially like 12 months in telecoms, primarily as representative for telecom providers in the business market segment, I very quickly concluded thata. the targeted SME-market was too small for me, resulting in frequent collisions with ‘corporate sales’;b. most of the companies I was engaged with were not looking for the next ‘new’ sales representative, but were particularly interested in an unbiased, cost-oriented approach based on ‘facts & figures’ executed by an independent expert sitting at their side of the table.
