Within just 3 months, he efficiently managed his fleet of 7 trucks, which eventually led him to BB Cement. In 2005, Jan began trading BB Cement through his company WebFlyer. Over the next two years, he evolved into a distributor of BB Cement under his new entity, The Cement Market, ultimately becoming BB Cement’s third-largest customer with a turnover of R21 million by 2011.Early in 2009, Jan joined BB Cement as a sales consultant, and by 2013, he earned a promotion to Sales & Marketing Executive. During his tenure, Jan played a pivotal role in BB Cement’s growth from a 72,000-ton-per-year operation to an impressive 480,000 tons per year.In August 2017, Jan departed BB Cement to pursue his vision and dreams, seeking further growth and challenges in the cement and hard commodity industry. Driven by his aspiration to become a pioneer in the cement sector, Jan formed an alliance with some of Southern Africa’s leading distributors, logistics experts, technical specialists, and commodity traders. This collaboration gave birth to Medcom Trading, which now proudly stands as Southern Africa’s market forerunner.
