In engineering my teams build robust and complete features, releasing regularly.I am comfortable with agile and proficient with waterfall, with a solid understanding of why either would be used inside of a full range SDLC and when/how to choose the right mechanic to get the job done. It's not religion, it's often a balance of how the software can be delivered successfully and the amount of preparation done beforehand.Open source, community and sanity are very important in a software shop. As a leader, I make sure the technology is viable through rigorous deep dives, prototypes and even full-blown production applications. I give back what I learn in best practices, detailed issue reports, commits to open source projects and collaboration with others via BaseCamp, StackOverflow, Slack, Twitter and Git systems; then I collaborate with those around me to make sure my decision making is sound.
