Beyond Capricorn is trying to reach beyond the more traditional set up of a travel agent. There are no brochure racks or desks facing clients visiting. The philosophy is that booking a holiday is not only an exciting moment but also one which, potentially, requires a significant financial outlay. With that being the case, I believe that the initial consultation is part and parcel of the enjoyment and should form part of the relationship I build with my clients.Beyond Capricorn is definitely based on a comprehensive service ethos. Plans are afoot to develop the service offering in such a way that clients don’t have to worry about any aspect of their holiday or indeed how being away impacts home life including the garden, looking after the cat or where to park the car at the airport.Beyond Capricorn offer’s holidays from all of the main and well established, UK holiday companies through tour membership of the Travel Trust Association. I first got involved with private jet touring, acting as a tour escort on Captain's Choice Remote Africa tour and with a friend and colleague, set up Private Jet Tours.Private Jet Tours offered luxury tours of interest to destinations all over the world. It was a relatively new product for the UK market and after our first tour "Following Caravagio" the announcement was made for Brexit which affected currency, our bookings for future tours so we decided to put the company on hold.

I was asked to join the Mail on Sunday on their travel display advertising team and looked after all overseas National Tourist Offices and Airlines. The Mail on Sunday and Daily Mail advertising teams then merged and I looked after advertising for both national newspapers. My role included finding marketing solutions across print and online and working closely with our travel editorial and promotional teams.

At Travel Weekly I worked on the advertising team looking after Cruise products and overseas Tourist Offices.

I started my career as a travel agent and progressed to Manager of my first shop in Fleet, Hampshire. I then managed two more successful shops in Camberley and Farnham. I also became an Area Cruise Co-Ordinator helping to develop the Cruise Market within Pickfords shops at the time when Cruising was beginning to become a popular experience. Pickfords Travel and Hogg Robinson Travel were then purchased by Airtours and rebranded Going Places.
