Adult Education lecturer/demonstrator working on a self employed basis. Teaching weekly and monthly one day courses in the Cheshire, Flintshire and Shropshire areas.Teaching residential courses at Higham Hall near Keswick in the Lake District and have taught at Dillington House, in Somerset, Burton Manor on the Wirral, West Cheshire College, Art Societies as well as offering training courses to the LEA and one to one tuition.I cover courses for complete beginners through all levels covering Watercolours, Pen and Ink, Drawing and Sketching, Pen and wash as well as a variety of other subject.

Currently running Watercolour for Beginners courses and Drawing and Sketch for Beginners Courses in Chester and the Frodsham area on a self employed basis. Also offering one day workshops on various subjects. I will be teaching at Higham Hall in the Lake District next year as a visiting lecturer. Lovely location and an ARCA College. The principal, George Cooke used to run courses at Burton Manor College before it's closure and is now offering a good range of courses in the Lake District.• Created and delivered a variety of Art courses including Watercolours (All levels), Drawing and Sketching (All levels), Line and Wash, Water-soluble pencils, Stencilling, silk painting and Desk Top publishing.• Responsible for publicising courses and implementing quality procedures.• Direct experience in organising exhibitions/displays and demonstrations to promote art classes, students art work and professional artists.• Worked for various Colleges and Art Societies since 1988.

Ellesmere Port Library

• First point of contact offering Information advice and guidance.• Liaised with the public, technical staff, Library staff, teaching staff, support staff & other organizations on a daily basis. Involved in staff inductions, CRB checks, implementing H & S procedures, risk assessments, quality procedures and staff appraisals.• Managed the Ellesmere Port Learning Zone Site, dealing directly with approximately 1000+ students a year, 500 students a week, teaching staff, student services and liaising with partnership members and organizations to ensure the smooth running of the site and a balanced program. Involved in curriculum planning, working with several departments and organizations to achieve this.• Expanded the existing provision, increasing annual student enrolments from 200 to 1500 and making sure that the program met the needs of the students. Introduced short one off day courses during holiday periods as well as Saturday courses and short weekly courses in addition to the longer traditional courses to utilize the site.• Maintained good contacts with student services and other support agencies to ensure that students needs are met. For example; childcare, financial help, learner support, careers advice, exams, signposting to other organizations, problem solving.• Organised, attended and reported at Steering group meetings.• Produced quarter returns for the Project manager.• Organized funding twice for redecoration, carpeting and furnishings as well as bringing a derelict area into use. Project managed the works; Arranged quotes, ordered furniture, arranged for decorators, electricians, carpenters and carpet layers, scheduled works. Kept within budget.• Organized a grant for local student’s course fees through the National Lottery and dealt with applicants and the day to day record keeping.Responsible for stock control, placing orders, making payments, keeping accurate records. Also enrolled students, taking payments for courses, banking.

Blacon Arts Centre And Kingsway High School

• Managed two Adult Education sites (Blacon Arts Centre & Kingsway). Co-coordinated events off site.• Expanded existing teaching programs at Blacon Art’s Centre, re-established Easter School and introduced Saturday classes and one day events there and also at the Ellesmere Port Campus.• Communicated and liased with staff and students to ensure the smooth running of programmes and that programmers met student needs.• Responsible for selection and recruitment of staff, induction training, CRB checks and day to day administration.• Arranged advertising for courses and organised exhibitions / demonstrations to promote courses.

• Responsible for producing Black and White Artwork for publication.• Created Illustrative designs for China and Stoneware using watercolours and line and wash techniques for the UK and worldwide markets.• Produced camera ready Artwork for commissioned ceramics, guide books, display boards, brochures, menus and have produced specialised Archaeological Illustrations.• Employed on both a freelance and permanent basis and used to working to tight deadlines.• Familiar with IT packages and have a keen interest in Photography.
