As a Librarian I see the need for a marrying of our community and the services we provide. It has been my goal to Direct a Library system someday, to provide innovative and pertinent resources to my patrons and to be a viable resource for all who enter our doors. Now that I have reached that goal I am raising the bar, embarking on a course of learning, behind the scenes, first in the customer service arena, second in the acquisitions arena, managing all aspects of a county Library system from budget to programming. I am thrilled that these learning opportunities have translated into a position as a library system director where there are forward thinking and eager staff members who want to bring on new talent and new ideas to better grow their services and reach anyone needing "the original search engine", the librarian.
