Taber and District Community Adult Learning Association (TDCALA) is a not for profit association providing a community learning program, adult and family literacy, language and workplace essential skills, training for business and industry, English as a Second Language programs, resume services, seniors and health support programs. Responsible for planning, budgeting, reporting, fund development, program development, board development as well as operations and human resources. Responsible for hiring , training and staff development for 24 staff.Founded the following organizations underneath the umbrella of TDCALA, LCC Taber Campus in 1987, the Taber Literacy Program in 1987, English Language Learning program since 1985, the Community Access Program in 1997, the Career Resource Centre in 1998, and the ELL Drop In Centre in 2007 and Citizenship Services in 2011Developed strategic and operational plans, policy and procedures and evaluation processes.

Policy Management • Implements policy decisions of the Board and ensures compliance by all employees of the Society2) Strategic Planning & Visioning• Sets specific organizational goals and outcomes under the direction of the board of directors. • Advises the Board regarding the effectiveness of current programs and upcoming program opportunities3) VisioningIn cooperation with the board of directors, the executive director:• Participates in the creation of an organizational vision• Develops programs and services that work towards the vision4) Leadership• Works in collaboration with staff, relevant community agencies and groups to accomplish objectives and fulfill responsibilities• Encourages team-building by facilitating open communication and positive working relationships with staff5) Program Management• Ensures effective management of programs • Supervises the implementation of the organization’s programs and services• Facilitates the research, planning, development, implementation and evaluation of programs and services6) Personnel Management• Hires, supervises, evaluates and releases staff• Assists individuals with the necessary skills to be successful within the organization • Supports goal achievement, coaches and monitors performance 7) Financial Management• Administers the funds of the organization according to the budget approved by the board. 8) Advocacy• Participates in networking and community relation’s activities on behalf of the organization and maintains liaison with relevant government and non-government agencies• Builds strong working relationships with others, both inside and outside the organization, and enlists their support for accomplishing tasks• Identifies and researches funding opportunities• Recruits membership in the organization

South Region - Bassano To Warner (14 Communities)

Act as resource to Coordinators within the assigned region.Plan and implement a suitable orientation for new Community Adult Learning Coordinators, On the basis of needs identified through the needs survey and in consultation within the region, plan, organize, facilitate and or present two one-day, or one two-day, regional meeting(s). Participate in interactive emails, CLN Online discussion board and video conference meetings as requested.
