Jane Bucca worked in the field of water resources for over 25 years, supervising the Conservation Program at the SFWMD, designing conservation programs, and managing a grant program providing funding to local water providers. As a professor of economics, Jane Bucca has taught Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, and Public Policy Economics, emphasizing experiential teaching.She managed the SFWMD alternative water supply grant program for 12 years, managing the funding and construction of over 100 projects creating millions of gallons of alternative water supplies; she was instrumental in the development of the SFWMD Comprehensive Water Conservation Program, developed in 2008, and oversaw its implementation in 2008 and 2009.She has produced agricultural, landscape, golf course, and recreational water demand projections for the South Florida Water Management District's Regional Water Supply Plans, a legislatively -required analysis of water demands for the next twenty years. She also has evaluated population and future water demands for SFWMD Consumptive Use Permits.Ms Bucca has developed data bases in conjunction with Information Technology, notably the alternative water supply data base, notice of violation on-line water conservation examination; and, in 2011, the Water Supply Utilities Project (WaSUP) on-line reporting tool and data base, for project reporting by public water suppliers.Ms. Bucca was a member of the committee that developed the Water Conservation certification courses for the Center for Training, Research and Education for Environmental Occupations (TREEO) at the University of Florida, and teaches economics at the college level.
