My duties at Tate's included telephone and online customer service, retail and wholesale order processing, and assisting the webstore manager with content and promotions. My work required the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, as well as FlexiBake (a specialized database for sales and shipping). I received praise from customers for my ability to assist them with their orders.As a part of the team that created the promotional campaigns for Tate's Bake Shop, I worked with Adobe Creative Suite 4 to create promotions, maintained the promotions schedule, and administered the company's account with Listrak, a digital marketing service.

As Website Manager, I created and maintained all website content, worked with images, and updated the site on a daily basis. I have a working knowledge of HTML and CSS, as well as Drupal, Wordpress, and TypePad.I was responsible for all aspects of website sales, from placement to fulfillment. I also provided all customer service related to the website: requests for information, orders, technical assistance, and customer support.I produced a newsletter, maintained a book review blog, and contributed to BookHampton’s online presence. I was the store manager at BookHampton in East Hampton from 1995-1999. I assisted the store’s owners with ordering and store merchandising, supervising a staff numbering from 5 to 12 booksellers, monitoring orders and receiving, and providing customer service.As the store manager at BookHampton in Southampton (1999-2011), my additional responsibilities included placing all weekly orders, special orders, along with merchandising and event coordination. I was in charge of a staff of between 5 and 12 booksellers, including scheduling, hiring, and training.As a bookseller, I worked closely with customers, researched their inquiries, operated the POS database, and was expected to have excellent knowledge of current and classic literature. Throughout my years at BookHampton I developed strong relationships with its customers, and I was often commended by them for my excellent abilities.
