Dental Oncology is a highly specialized area of practice that requires intimate understanding of oncology case management and treatment limitations. Prevention of opportunistic infections, management of oral complications and patient education on home oral care are important and essential components of complete oncology treatment. Oncology and transplant innovations are becoming increasingly specialized. Continuing self education to keep abreast of current areas of research is imperative to providing the highest quality care.
