My career has taken me from the ballet studio to the board room. With over 30 years lettings industry experience, I have just about seen it all. Savills Lettings is my work baby, after 18 years of nurturing, it feels like it’s reached adulthood. When I joined in 2005, I had a team of 70 people in 19 locations mainly in London and the South of England. In 2023, my team is 450 strong covering over 70 locations from Tunbridge Wells to Edinburgh. My ambition is to lead the business to further growth whilst keeping our focus firmly on giving the best customer experience.Having left home at 16 for the bright lights of London and the Royal Ballet School, I never imagined that five years later, I would be driving around Notting Hill in my mini metro as a trainee Lettings Negotiator. By my early 30’s I was made a director at Chesterton, progressing to Head of Lettings, at 35, I was headhunted by Savills to grow their lettings business. I’ve never looked back.Discipline, core values, high standards, tenacity, creativity, inspiration, strong communication, competitiveness, an eye for detail, preparation, determination, drive, practise, perfection, and continuous improvement were all skills I acquired throughout my dance training that have continued to guide me through my lettings career. During my time at Savills I have sat on many boards, and am currently a member of The Savills UK Board, Chair of The Lettings Executive Board, UK Sponsor for The D&I Age Group, D&I Ally and Chair of Savills Innovation Group. I have a dynamic and diverse team which is represented on our Lettings Exco, Lettings Boards and Working Groups. I was an ARLA* Regional Representative, sat on the ARLA Board, served as ARLA President and am now an honoured Fellow. I have been awarded an honorary FRICS and sat on the RICS Residential and Lettings Working Group. I enjoy all aspects of my job, but especially being an inspirational leader. My approach is very much firm but fair, consistently striving to develop my team to be the best that they can be. I am a working mum of a 12 year old boy and a carer for my mum who was recently diagnosed with mixed dementia, so I understand first-hand the challenges that many of my team face in today’s world. Luckily I can share the load with my husband and dad. It can be tough but I embrace each day as I always have, with the mindset: Today is another day, and what I can do better than yesterday? *Association of Residential Lettings Agents
