Jane has 10 years’ experience in urban renewal working for the WA State urban renewal agency. Jane’s early passion in urban sustainability led her to pursue a work placement with the then East Perth Redevelopment Authority (EPRA) to see how sustainability could be achieved through brown field development. This placement was only the start and Jane has since worked across the planning policy, corporate strategy, and strategic land use planning functions of the agency as it evolved from EPRA, to the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority (MRA), to DevelopmentWA. Jane is a skilled facilitator and communicator who enjoys strategic thinking and problem solving. Her professional strengths include strategic planning, working with cross functional teams to achieve against strategic priorities, and utilising a systems thinking approach to establish the link between strategic direction and operational implementation. Jane has worked with a variety of State and local government organisations as well as internal and external stakeholders to support development of Strategies, planning frameworks and to enable delivery of policy outcomes through brown field redevelopment. While her passion for urban sustainability remains Jane’s 10 years in the public sector have given her an appreciation for how State and local governments serve their communities across many policy areas, giving her a keen appreciation for the development and implementation of good policy, regardless of the field.
