Jane has broad range of research and collection management expertise, worked with councils, museums, schools, historical societies, galleries and private collectors and is an active participant and contributot to professional library (Australia Library and Information Association), archive (Australian Society of Archivists), museum (Museum Australia) and education (School Library Association Victoria) platforms. She has been awarded a Certificate of Excellence for Professional Contributions to Australian Society of Archivists and a Certificate of Excellence for Teaching from Monash University.In her current role at PLC Melbourne, Jane provides research, curriculum expertise and academic support for current staff, students and the College's wider communities including authors, academic, historians, musicologists and major institutions including the National Library of Australia, Dictionary of Biography and universities. She coordinated the relocation of the College Archive, planning and installation of the PLC Melbourne Heritage Centre for the College's 130th Anniversary. The Centre, opened by Professor Graeme Davison AO in November 2005, provides the College with 5 interactive flexible spaces to engage audiences, showcase and celebrate it's 145 year story.Jane extends her professional contributions beyond the formal workplace by mentoring work placement students, museum managers and educationalists for other organisations, including Deakin University, Melbourne University, RMIT and Backyard Honey Pty Ltd an urban apiary beekeeping business specialising in providing curriculum content [pollinators, bees, food security; sustainable futures etc] for primary, secondary and tertiary and adult learners. Jane is a past Secretary and Convenor of the Australian Society of Archivists Schools Special Interest Group (Victoria). In these roles her and worked with many to mentor, create and provide network and educational opportunities for colleagues working in Victorian school archives.

Working as an Educational Volunteer at HEIDE Museum of Modern Art, Jane developed and delivered art appreciation and heritage themes for primary, secondary and tertiary groups and Holiday Programmes linked to HEIDE'S history and exhibition themes.

Over the 8 years employed with this Library service (now City of Boroondara) Jane was employed as Housebound Librarian, Childrens Librarian, Technical Service Librarian and Reference Librarian. Professional highlights included: establishing City of Hawthorn Housebound Service; overseeing initial SPYDUS / URICA catalogue automation; coordinating the Children's Library and Story Time program; assisting and managing the Council move into new purpose built City of Boroondara Library, Glenferrie.
