I am a passionate London-born singer, composer and producer. Under the name Jagara, I make a combination of vocal-led and instrumental electronic music. I am also a part-time carer/PA and a music teacher on both a one-to-one and group basis, establishing the pupils' varying needs and also helping them integrate with others. Together, we practice subject-specific research, conversational debate and recognising different perspectives. In the past few years, Jagara (formerly a band) worked with various producers, promoters and live agents in the UK and Amsterdam, building up a solid fanbase and developing our unique sound and brand. We performed at a variety of festivals, including London Calling (Amsterdam), The Great Escape, Secret Garden Party, Y Not, Standon Calling and Bestival. We also supported Bastille as part of their tour at the 02 in 2016. Our single, 'Let Me Go', had more than 30,000 plays on Soundcloud and was featured in NME New Music Friday, DIY, The Revue, Spindle Magazine, High Clouds, Little Indie Blogs, The Autumn Roses and Going Solo. Jagara is now led by me (lead vocalist/songwriter/producer) in collaboration with my producer/instrumentalist sister, Cat and producer/mixer/drummer Curtis Elvidge. Last year, we released a new single and music video, 'Into the Night', which was synced to series six of the award-winning NETFLIX series 'ELITE'. On May 4th, a remix version by Planningtorock was released on all major streaming platforms. On December 7th, we released our new single and video, 'For Your Girl'. From July 2020-2021, I spent a year in Berlin, whilst taking part in a production music project for BMG Music as a songwriter. The album was released last year under the name Silken Moon. For the past three years, I have also been freelancing as a voiceover artist, featuring as a soundscape voiceover for Don Papa Rum's launch party and most recently providing vocals for a horror track called 'Hellfire' in collaboration with emerging artists Disthoughts and 88 Diagrams.Through exploring music, film/film history, science, movement and architecture, I continue inviting different perspectives and conversations, which help me in all kinds of work. I am open to new roles where I can combine my love for education, research and innovation to be a vital part of a passionate team, be that a form of teaching, creative facilitation, music supervision or an assistant role within research and production.
