Counselling Psychologist In Private Practice
CurrentI am a Counselling Psychologist available privately to work with common mental health problems; anxiety, depression and low self-esteem using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I can also provide supervision to Psychologists and Psychotherapists.I am also trained in humanistic counselling, systemic/ family therapy, brief solution focused therapy and schema therapy. I am Chartered by the British Psychological Society (BPS), registered with the Health & Care Professionals Council (HCPC) and accredited with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapists (BABCP).I am keen to help people improve their quality of life using the CBT model and with an empathic nature and years of experience I believe I can help people to understand their difficulties quickly and break the negative cycles that might be holding them back.I have twenty years NHS experience, most recently I have been working in a primary care ‘IAPT’ talking therapies service with people referred by their GP for anxiety and depression. Before that I worked in secondary care with people with complex mental health problems. Initially, I worked for 10 years with adults with learning disabilities,I have led a clinical team in both primary care and learning disabilities services. I am used to managing a large team towards achieving contract targets. My aim was to provide a safe, timely, efficient and effective evidence-based service provided by well trained, supervised and motivated staff. I have a passion to provide good customer service and I pride myself on having achieved short or no waiting times in services through my management strategies.I have moved to private practice to offer a high standard psychological interventions with the immediacy and flexibility working independently can provide, to be optimally effective for the benefit of clients.
